Today we reviewed related rates, here are some tips for solving related rate problems.

1. Make a sketch of what is occurring in the problem in order to determine what equation you need.

2. Formulate an equation that relates the relevant quantities. (for example volume to radius)

3. Differentiate with respect to time

4. Substitute in the known quantities

5. Solve for the related rate
